Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead/Senior Mechanical Project Manager to oversee a critical, high-value mechanical project in Oxford. The project, which is valued at approximately 7M, will primarily focus on the construction of medical facilities, including consultancy rooms and minor operation suites. This is a year-long project starting in early March 2025, with an initial 12-week preconstruction period.

As the Lead/Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the project from preconstruction to completion, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. A strong background in CAD/Revit coordination and design is essential, as is the ability to manage a team and oversee all aspects of mechanical project management, from coordination and procurement through to financials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Take full responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical project, including leading the preconstruction phase, managing site operations, and overseeing project execution.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a site management team of approximately 4 members, ensuring effective communication, task delegation, and performance.
  • Design Coordination: Utilise CAD/Revit for effective design coordination across disciplines, ensuring all designs are integrated and compliant with project requirements.
  • Procurement & Delivery: Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and contractors. Manage the delivery of mechanical systems and services in line with project timelines.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring that costs are tracked accurately, and financial targets are met.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and standards on-site, with a focus on maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to provide project updates and resolve issues promptly.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard, with a focus on quality assurance and compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in mechanical project management, preferably in the construction of medical or healthcare facilities.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in CAD/Revit design coordination and mechanical systems integration.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, providing clear direction and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from preconstruction through to completion, with a focus on procurement, delivery, and financial management.
  • Qualifications: Relevant degree or professional qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Location: Must be based or willing to relocate to Oxford for the duration of the project.
