JB391: Junior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Oxford
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Junior Quantity Surveyor:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for roofing projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for various roofing systems and materials.
- Evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate project costing and financial reporting.
- Monitor project expenditures and track variations to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Conduct site visits to assess work progress and verify quantities for payment applications.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and financial transactions.
- Participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms.
- Support the commercial manager in preparing monthly reports and forecasts.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and regulations related to roofing construction.
Skills and Qualifications for the Junior Quantity Surveyor:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Internship or relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or Construction Cost Management is preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction methods and materials, specifically in roofing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with Aconex and field view but training will be provided.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
