Seeking Female Support Worker - for independent and outgoing young woman in OX3 area.
Are you friendly, organised, and passionate about empowering others? We’re seeking a Female Support Worker to assist a fun, quirky young woman with an acquired brain injury (ABI) in her calm and welcoming home.
This bright and independent psychology graduate loves dancing, horror films, crafts, reading, Dungeons and Dragons, stimulating conversations, and trips to the cinema. Whilst she enjoys a full and vibrant life, including engaging in some voluntary work, her main challenges are managing fatigue and memory. She’s looking for someone who can provide subtle and sensitive support with managing her memory, organisation and day to day chores like meal preparation, shopping and domestic tasks so that she can spend her energy on the things that fulfil her. This role does not involve personal or physical care, as she is fully independent in these areas, nor does it generally involve accompanying our client to her activities. Instead, the focus is on empowering her to live life to the fullest.
About the Role
- Hours: Mondays and Thursdays, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (14 hours per week).
- Location: OX3 - candidates should ideally live nearby for convenience.
- Salary: £14.00 per hour.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for a friendly, positive and reliable woman who shares some of her interests and has an empowering approach to support. The ideal candidate will:
- Recognise her strengths and promote her independence.
- Support her in her decision making and problem solving.
- Assist with planning and organisation without being overbearing.
- Help create a positive and supportive environment while respecting her autonomy.
In Her Words:"My ideal Support Worker would share some of my interests including dancing, films, reading, and stimulating conversations. I’d like someone who can support me in leading a full, rewarding, and safe life while respecting my independence."
If you feel you might be a good fit for this role, we’d love to hear from you!
