Aspiring Psychologist - Therapy Support Assistant - Oxford

Are you an aspiring psychologist and would love to support students with their metal health needs?

This amazing specialist school in Oxford are looking for a Therapeutic Support Assistant to join their team starting ASAP.

They are looking for someone who will facilitate and provide individualised support and interventions to their students.

The School:

  • Look after students who ages between 4 and 16
  • All students have been diagnosed with Autism and struggle with other co-existing needs
  • Need support with building on communication skills, social skills and interpersonal skills
  • Struggle with mental health needs that branch off into social and emotional needs as well
  • This school also make use of a specific therapy during the school day - to which you will be given full training.

Responsibilities in your role as a Therapeutic Support Assistant:

  • Provide 1 to 1 and group support to children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with educational staff
  • Provide individualised support to students, addressing their emotional, social, and educational needs.
  • Facilitate group activities and promote positive peer interactions
  • Provide guidance in emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Make use of the therapeutic interventions to best support the students
