  • In your role as a Mental Health assistant, you will ensure that the students are staying on track with their dedicated coursework while also ensuring that they are maintaining healthy coping mechanisms and good mental health.
  • The students in this school are between the ages of 3 and 11, a prime time to build good mental health skills!
  • You will be involved in ensuring that they can access their education in ways that are accessible to them and ensure that the classroom is a happy learning environment!
  • Your day to day as a Mental Health assistant will involve many tasks but you will mostly support students through the facilitation of therapeutic techniques and practices, keeping the classroom a fun and engaging environment, helping thee teacher set up for lessons and provide students support in 1 to 1 groups.
  • The qualities you should have to be successful in this role will be: Patience, enthusiasm, the ability to take initiative well and be proactive, have a basic understanding of the importance of safeguarding and lots of positivity!
  • Previous experience working with students with mental health needs will be advantageous but not essential.
