We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic youth worker to join a lovely supportive team and one of our highly regarded specialist schools in Oxford. The role is to start ASAP and is a long term placement.

This is an important role where you will be responsible for facilitating and providing tailored emotional support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience and develop coping strategies. As a Youth Worker, you will work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals to create a supportive and safe environment for our students.

You will support the students every day to ensure that they are utilizing their interventions and applying the coping skills they have been taught.

The reason this highly regarded school are looking for a youth worker is to support their students who come from tough backgrounds. Many have experienced trauma in their childhoods and need additional support to regulate and cope with their emotions in ways that are constructive.

Some responsibilities you will have as a youth worker

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents

  • Support students in developing social communication skills
  • Facilitate group activities and promote positive peer interactions
  • Collaborate with the school team to identify triggers and develop proactive approaches to behaviour management
