Job Title:Finance Assistant

Location:Padiham, Burnley

Salary: Up to 28,000 per annum

Our client based in Padiham is currently looking to hire an experienced Finance Asisstant to join the team. This is an excellent opportuntiy to join a group of companies which is continously growing, they also promote from within recognising staff achievements.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Daily bank posting & reconciliation
  • Review and confirm sales invoices, convert from draft to Invoice and issue to customer
  • Monitor and action the company accounts email inbox
  • Request authorisation by relevant manager for non-PO Invoices via adobe DocuSign
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Credit Control, debt chasing and constant monitoring of current credit limits ensuring all customers stick within their assigned credit limit
  • Circulate weekly debtor reports around the management team with commentary
  • Weekly BACS payment run to ensure all suppliers are paid to terms
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Monthly company credit card statement reconciliation
  • Full control over purchase ledger, ensure invoices match PO & enter/query with PM if not
  • Any ad hoc financial duties
  • Monthly PAYE payment (to reach HMRC by 22nd)
  • Credit check new customers/prospects and ensure the account is correctly set up

Qualifications and education requirements

  • Sound knowledge of Excel and Excel functions
  • Attention to detail to catch errors
  • Strong math abilities
  • Great organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of accounting practices
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to follow company policies
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong financial and accounting background, with excellent communication skills
