COST ENGINEER

Cost Engineer

BACKGROUND

The company design, develop and manufacture a range of systems, subsystems and complex componentry that are used in a wide range of applications including semiconductor electronics, telecoms, optical devices, ruggedised systems and switches.

The innovation they utilise in design and production as well as their future product mapping sets them aside as from other similar organisations. Couple this with a planned expansion based on orders won and a reputation for problem solution solving sets them at the forefront of technology within their field.

ROLE

The primary role is to manage and control the costs involved in our estimated and actual project costs of bringing to production

Responsible for preparing regular cost reports, (actual v forecast etc)

Identify and analyse any cost variances and report them to project managers and other key stakeholders.

Provide cost estimates and budgeting forecasting and reporting

Planning and establishment of project budgets, and are the continuous monitoring and updating to the relevant stakeholders and project progressors

Performing risk analyses to assess the financial risks associated with various project decisions and activities.

Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize any potential financial differences

PERSON

You must possess cost variance skills from a within a complex engineering manufacturing background

Proven ability of bringing projects back on track (problem solving) or providing accurate initial cost estimates

This person could come from an accountancy background that has gone into engineering or an engineering that has gone into cost estimation

Suitable qualifications for this role should be demonstrated
