Description:

Our clientConsilium Contracting Services are an extremely fast-paced 24/7 multi-trade contracting firm based in Paisley (no remote working). They operate primarily in social housing and also in private domestic homes. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, reporting to the Business Systems Director.

As a 24/7 reactive repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment company, they deliver more than 2,500 jobs each month, all measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These jobs range from small repairs to larger works known as voids. All works are pre-determined through an agreed Schedule of Rates (SoR) with each customer, except for private works, which are estimated in the usual manner at the outset of the enquiry.

The successful candidate will be fully responsible for the immediate review and subsequent billing of jobs marked as completed. This role primarily involves evaluating the cost at the end of each completed job, quickly analyzing the job's cost, comparing it to its SoR, and ensuring all costs are fully covered within the agreed SoR, always maintaining cost profitability on every job.

For private domestic jobs, you will issue quotations. These jobs primarily involve plumbing and heating but may also include bathroom makeovers, kitchen makeovers, boilers, general plumbing, and general electrical work, among other combinations. You will also be responsible for invoicing private customers upon job completion.

Main Tasks:

  • Work with their job management system, simPRO. Every task undertaken must be recorded and managed within simPRO.
  • Understand how SoRs work. Knowledge of SoRs, such as the M3NHF (National Housing Federation) SoR or similar, is highly advantageous.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment for private domestic works, and use the SoR to estimate for social housing customers when requested.
  • Maintain and update simPRO diligently and effectively.
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Provide excellent customer service, demonstrate numeracy skills, and commercial awareness. Attend regular customer meetings to present, discuss information, and agree on costs to ensure job profitability.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve common objectives.
  • Possess a good understanding of social housing and private domestic works.
  • Demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Show flexibility and initiative with a positive, self-motivated attitude towards achieving company objectives.
  • Display drive and determination to complete work effectively, accurately, and on time.

The Estimator/Billing Manager will play a crucial role in the companys profitability, determined by the speed and accuracy of weekly billing. A weekly sales target is in place.
