Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Head of Fleet, you will:

  • Lead daily transport operations, ensuring all vehicles, associated assets, and movements are managed and optimised for efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, risk assessments, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
  • Drive a culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all operations.
  • Ensure smooth communication and alignment across teams and with senior management.
  • Coordinate and optimise the movement of feedstock, biofertiliser, and intra-company products.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maintain fleet reliability.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance safety, compliance, and environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and administrative staff.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports, ensuring financial and operational targets are achieved.
  • Foster relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and key customers.
  • Act as a named competent person on the company's Operator License, adhering to Traffic Commissioner requirements.
  • Manage budgets effectively to optimise revenue and reduce costs, including minimising third-party haulage fees.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or 3-5 years operational experience (
  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Full UK Driving License (C+E license desirable).
