Responsibilities in your new role as the Transport Planner
Specific tasks include planning daily vehicle movements and consolidating orders to maximise vehicle fill and minimise empty mileage. With a minimum of 2 years of route planning experience, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of tachographs, driver regulations, and the intricacies of effective planning.

Your role will involve designing routes that ensure goods are delivered from A to Z, and everywhere in between, while carefully considering cost-effective strategies, eco-friendly practices, and the most suitable transport modes. You'll also account for potential multiple loading points, planning effectively to meet these challenges.

Your personality, experience and qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will be required to demonstrate an excellent background in a fast-paced HGV transport planning environment. It is essential that have an in-depth knowledge of the freight, transport and logistics industry.

The ideal candidate should be looking for a long-term role and possess strong excellent communication skills, as they will be interacting regularly with drivers. They should be approachable, hands-on, and resilient, with a positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong computer skills and excellent organisational abilities are essential, as well as a team-oriented mindset.
