Facilities Development Partner

37 hours per week | Temporary for 12 months

Salary range £26,000 to £28,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)

39 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company days) + 2 wellbeing days a year + weekly exercise and wellbeing hours

This is a national role based from home with a focus on East, East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire, North & North West Regions with weekly travel.

As the UK’s national governing body for gymnastics, by working closely with our members who form this community, we aim to lead, support and inspire them to help build a bright future for our sport.

Our Community department is looking for a Facilities Development Partner to support the delivery of the Facility Development Strategic Plan through developing facility projects within the Club Capital programme; and support partners to develop new dedicated and improved gymnastics facilities outside of the Club Capital programme.

The Role

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Identify potential facility pipeline projects to deliver through the Club Capital programme.
  • Manage project pipeline and support project development to ensure projects are ready for Investment Committee meetings.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and manage successful Club Capital applications and delivery.
  • Support clubs to complete Club Capital administrative paperwork (EOI, Business Plan, Financial Forecasting, Assessment template, etc).
  • Advise BGI/Sporting Assets through the project development, assessment, and Investment Committee decision process.
  • Support projects post Investment Committee decision through delivery or continued development.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key local partners to support facility development projects.
  • Manage projects monitoring & evaluation process to ensure project target outcomes are being met and provide interventions to assist where needed.
  • Create case studies for British Gymnastics and partners.
  • Taking full responsibility for creating technical guidance, support resources and tools

The Person

Applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • A good understanding and knowledge of gymnastics clubs operational management and delivery programmes.
  • A good understanding of sports facilities and the processes for developing dedicated facilities.
  • A good understanding of the process and purpose of sport development, delivery infrastructure/mechanisms, key partners and their objectives.
  • A knowledge of Local Authority processes around infrastructure development, planning and building regulations.
  • Experience in project management and business planning.
  • Experience of successful funding applications.
  • Communication skills for listening/engaging, relationship building, leading/attending meetings and the production/delivery of presentations and reports.
  • Interpersonal skills for influencing, negotiating and mediating.
  • Basic financial processes and budgetary management skills and IT skills, specifically Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
