We are working with an established healthcare and emergency response organisation who are looking to hire a Safety & Emergency Response Manager on a permanent basis, in office, in Folkestone.

Offering 75,000/annum, 26 days holiday + bank holidays, private medical cover, a bonus scheme and a company pension.

You will play a crucial role in the service delivery, QHSE, commercial performance and operations, ensuring efficiency within the organisation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Proficiency

  • Remaining informed with all relevant legislation changes and with international/local best practice in the delivery of core services.
  • Maintaining competence in the operations management and strategic emergency management.

Process Improvement

  • Establish, review, and improve operational delivery and governance procedures, providing recommendations to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Ensure all core business support systems and applications are structured correctly to support operations and are used by all staff to ensure maximum benefit.
  • Ensure all operational procedures are clearly drawn up and stored within the quality management system (GEMS) and understood by all staff.
  • Identify, implementing and managing the team through the change process.

Operational Delivery and Reporting

  • Responsible for Emergency Responder team safety and the Client's operational coordination in the event of an emergency.
  • Own and execute the operational delivery plan to fulfil all internal and external KPIs, contractual obligations and legal requirements.
  • Ensure dedicated monitoring of the Tunnel 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Ensure patrolling services are completed as set out in the Service Contract.
  • Produce activity reports to record the results of its activities. The activity report shall be complied using the Client's DEPAN.
  • Attend Client assessment meetings to measure any differences between reporting and traceability and implement any corrective actions.
  • Ensure monitoring, inspection and maintenance of equipment is carried out.
  • Ensure risk prevention activities are performed by the FLOR Team.
  • Complete all monitoring and reporting requirements internally/externally on a monthly, annual basis. e.g. Intervention Reports and Preventative Activity Reports.
  • Manage 'surprise' exercises in the service tunnel and ensure safety in the tunnel for all technicians. e.g. exercises involving loading stretcher on board ambulances. STTS will be regularly performed for all teams.
  • Maintain service levels and operational procedures to ensure continued accreditation with associated bodies and standards both internally and externally.
  • Plan, develop and manage resources to provide all services.

Required Experience:

  • Must be educated to Degree level with strategic vision to develop business.
  • Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years.
  • Must have a clean driving license and able to drive to site.
  • French speaking or a willingness to learn French terminologies/phrases.
  • Experience working at senior level with a strong understanding of UK fire, medical and security standards, regulations and legislation.
  • Strong commercial experience, managing service contracts, budgets and P&Ls.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex work streams to emergency deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence others at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, using initiative to maintain high standards.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and reporting.
  • Manage sensitive & confidential matters and ensure high level of data protection and security at all times.
