Material handler required to work within world leading manufacturing organisation in Barry.
Shift pattern on a 4 week rotational basis:
Week 1- 6am-2pm
Week 2 - 9am-5pm
Week 3- 6am-2pm
Week 4 - 1pm-9pm
and 1 weekend per month (Weekend after the week of lates on a paid overtime basis)
Salary: 31,554 per annum with a monthly shift allowance of 234 per month.
Reach / Counterbalance licence would be preferable but training can be provided. Previous warehouse experience is also preferred.
The Role
To support the supply chain by managing accurate inventory in the warehouse. Key responsibilities include preparing material for outbound shipment, receiving raw material and intermediates. All transactions need to be recorded using computerised system (SAP & ADC). Material movement are all carried out primarily using a reach truck or counterbalance forklift truck. There will also be a job requirement to train on the site shunt vehicle to move trailers around on site.
Duties & Responsibilities
Complete all operational duties within the role ensuring that wherever possible performance targets are met or exceeded.
Load goods In & Out
Check for damaged or missing items.
Update records of stock
Ensure all paperwork up to date.
Work within a team to ensure timely dispatch
Completing key tasks and compliance checks
Receive, locate, and book in packaged raw materials and intermediates into warehouse or finishing plant as necessary. Print out and apply ADC labels when required. Book in using SAP or ADC within 24 hours of receipt
Transfer packaged raw materials and intermediates to the production plants as required, and record transaction in SAP or ADC.
Prepare outbound deliveries for shipment, confirming picking activity using ADC, and recording load details on trailer sheet. Outbound shipments include trailers, containers (FCL/LCL), and collections for air.
Receive, book in, and supply plants with packaging items - e.g., boxes, kegs, and pallets.
Complete housekeeping activities as per housekeeping rota.
Cary out safety checks including racking inspection as required.
Carry out physical stock checks as needed.
Skill & Experience
Previous Warehouse experience
Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions and read computer generated documents and delivery notes
Ability to count accurately and record accurately
Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and/or lifting, in line with Health & Safety regulations
PC Literacy
Requirements/Qualifications
Previous experience in warehouse management/material handling is ideal as is experience of using a counterbalance forklift and reach truck.
Capable of dealing with normal advice/consignment note procedures and input/output transactions for computerised systems including SAP and ADC as well as other PC based software. Ability to accurately make on-line inputs to the computerised systems is essential.
Reach Truck/Counterbalance license
Experience of using MRP/ERP Systems such as SAP
