About the Role:

Our client is seeking a skilled Project Civil Engineer (Design) to join their expanding in-house engineering design consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team on a variety of projects across the water, heavy industrial, power, and design & build sectors. Based in Bridgend, South Wales, this role will report to a Senior Project Engineer and be responsible for the technical delivery of small projects or a section of a larger project.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Apply sound engineering principles to enable the use of new and advancing technologies.
  • Prepare outline and detailed designs in line with relevant standards.
  • Develop clear and well-structured design calculations, reports, and drawings.
  • Utilise BIM-led design approaches and structural design software (STAAD Pro, FEM Analysis, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis).

Project Management:

  • Plan and implement projects effectively.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines.
  • Ensure all work complies with internal quality standards, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation.

People:

  • Lead and develop engineering teams to meet technical and managerial goals.
  • Identify team skill gaps and provide mentoring where required.
  • Coordinate project delivery to ensure technical accuracy and timely completion.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and the supply chain to achieve project objectives.
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships.

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related qualification.
  • Strong people management and motivation skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of Eurocodes, UK Industry Codes of Practice.
