The Company

Our client is a major main construction and engineering contractor with 100 years' experience in the industry; they have an impressive private and public portfolio of major build, civil and rail projects with values in excess of 200m+. They are a principal supply chain partner on a number of a high-profile framework agreements and are a trusted organisation who are strongly cash positive with a healthy track-record of profit growth.

The Project

As a highly experienced Senior Project Manager, you will be based on a Nuclear Development project based in Cumbria. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful delivery of the project while collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

  • Proven history of working on nuclear projects operating in a Senior Project Manager position or similar
  • Extensive background within the construction industry, at least 10 years experience working with tier 1 or tier 2 leading contractors

The Role

  • Reporting to: Operations Manager

Duties

  • Chair regular meetings
  • Create and manage project budgets
  • Implement health and safety procedures
  • Guiding and overseeing the project team
  • Delegate responsibilities throughout project team
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members
  • Working closely with and reporting to an operations manager
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues
  • Ensure that all parties involved in the project adhere to contract terms and conditions
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Planning and overall control of all site operations to ensure that the project targets are achieved
  • Provide regular updates on project status, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure compliance with construction standards
  • Impose strict snagging, handover and aftercare measures to achieve zero defects upon completion
  • Organising and overseeing the site team and all construction procedures to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Monitor and control of sub-contractors on site and developing subcontractor relationships to ensure the successful delivery of the project
  • Work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and client representatives to establish clear communication channels and foster collaboration
