Job Title: HGV Driver
Location: Perth, PH2 8DD
Pay Rate: 14.00 per hour with overtime paid at x1.5, daily, if worked over core hours
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm plus overtime. Contracted to 41.25 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Manpower are recruiting Class 2 Driversto join our client's workforce based in Perth. In this role you will be responsible for the collection and safe transportation of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment across various locations in Scotland. You will operate company vehicles to collect the waste from various commercial, industrial, Waste Sites and residential locations nationwide.

As an employee you will follow planned routes and schedules provided by the operations team and ensure safe loading, securing, and unloading of waste to avoid damage and maintain compliance with safety standards. You will also be required to perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicle is in good working order before beginning the route.

You will load and unload waste manually or with mechanical assistance, ensuring all items are handled safely and efficiently. Appropriate equipment, such as trolleys, pallet trucks, and tail lifts, will be used to support the loading and unloading process.

The training offered includes on-the-job training and standard induction for best practice.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Cat C Licence, DCPC and Digital Tachograph - Store info of driver and vehicle
  • 1+ year HGV driving experience
  • Able to competently and safely operate assigned vehicles
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections


Other skills which will be of benefit however are no essential:

  • ADR - Qualification for driving dangerous goods
  • A strong commitment to environmental responsibility
  • Previous experience in waste collection, logistics, or a related field is desirable
  • Knowledge of WEEE waste regulations and handling procedures is an advantage
