Active Training Team Ltd (ATT) use experiential and immersive training to bring about behavioural change in people and organisations. Our training combines interactive experiences, film, drama, live action and facilitated discussion. We are currently seeking a Company Stage Manager to join our training centre based in Perth, Scotland.

Days of work: 4-days per week (Usually Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 07.45-17.15hrs = 9.5 hrs per day). We may consider applications for 3-days per week (salary will be calculated pro-rata accordingly)

Purpose of the role: To provide leadership onsite for the cast and crew team who deliver the immersive training experience. To provide a friendly and welcoming environment whilst ensuring the safety and comfort of cast, crew, and participants.

Main duties (to include but not limited to):

  • Represent ATT as host of the centre in a professional, courteous, flexible manner
  • Ensure that participants feel supported and informed
  • To be an effective and empathetic leader of the delivery team
  • To be the primary contact at the centre, liaising with the client on behalf of ATT
  • To be the on-site leader and point of contact for cast and crew
  • Create and maintain a supportive and positive backstage environment
  • Coordinate front-of-house operations, including audience management and safety protocols
  • Manage stocks of costume, props, general kit, consumables, supplies etc
  • Collaborate with the Technical Stage Manager to ensure the event runs smoothly
  • Daily event administration tasks; eg attendance sheets, show reports, catering orders
  • Support the recruitment and training of new crew members/ushers
  • Create client reports
  • To represent ATT with diplomacy, discretion and courtesy, whilst observing strict confidentiality
  • Be a nominated Emergency First Aider and Fire Marshal
  • Lead on evacuation/emergency procedures as required
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld

Necessary Skills/Experience:

  • Hands-on professional experience within performing arts, theatre or live events
  • Skilled in offering pastoral care and support to actors, crew or event staff members in a professional environment
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident, positive approach to customer service
  • Able to demonstrate administrative efficiency, focus and organisational skills
  • Experience of taking the lead in emergency situations
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Competent with the following programmes: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Drive.
