Field Service Engineer
Location: Peterborough
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week - 8am till 5pm

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join one of our top-performing branches, located in Peterborough.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), service work, and attending breakdowns. This will include tasks like pressure adjustments, part replacements, and troubleshooting for HVAC and refrigeration systems. You will also act as an escalation point for more complex issues, requiring someone with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet.
You'll be field-based, ideally living within a 20-mile radius of Peterborough. Travel times will typically be within an hour each way, with occasional visits to the office for parts pickup. The work involves Refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical maintenance, and we need someone with hands-on experience. F-Gas certification is required for this role.
What We're Looking For in a Field Service Engineer:- Experienced Engineer: At least 1 year of experience in refrigeration, HVAC, and maintenance roles.
- Certifications: F-Gas certification is a must. A plasma ticket and CSCS card would be a bonus, but not essential.
- Decision-Making Skills: You'll need to be able to make quick decisions and be customer-facing, with the ability to work independently.
- Geographically Local: Based within 20 miles of Peterborough to ensure efficient travel to service sites.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with VRF and VRV systems is highly preferred. No ammonia systems are worked on.
- Company Van & Fuel Card: Provided for work use.
- Overtime: Call-out rota of 1 in 5 weeks, paid door-to-door and at enhanced rates plus OT after 5 pm, 1.5x pay, and double time on weekends.
- Training & Development: Access to our in-house training centre for upskilling and development, with mentoring opportunities.
- Perform PPM and service maintenance on a variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Attend and resolve breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
- Replace and repair components as needed, ensuring smooth system operation.
- Manage service reports and communicate with clients to ensure high standards of service.
