What you will be doing
As an Applications Chemist, you will be at the forefront of developing, optimising, and evaluating analytical applications that demonstrate the capabilities of state-of-the-art instrumentation and software across diverse markets. Responsibilities will include:-
- Developing and Optimising Analytical Methods: Leading the development and optimisation of analytical methods to highlight the capabilities of GC-MS instrumentation and software across various applications and markets.
- Customer Documentation and Training: Preparing and delivering customer reports, application notes, SOPs, presentations, and technical documentation to support application promotion, delivery, and method handover training.
- Method Validation: Analysing client standards and samples in real-world matrices to validate method performance, focusing on detection limits, carry-over, calibration, reproducibility, and analyte recovery.
- Client Support: Providing prompt client support via phone, email, web meetings, or site visits to ensure seamless operation and build client confidence.
- On-Site Services: After initial onboarding, conducting on-site installation, method setup, training, and performance validation following solution sales, ensuring client satisfaction and sign-off.
What you will need
- A degree or above in chemistry, ideally analytical chemistry or a closely related subject.
- Hands-on experience in industry with GC, or ideally GC-MS.
- Experience with any of the following would be advantageous: GCxGC, headspace, thermal desorption, GC-TOFMS, SPE, LLE, SBSE, SPME, HS, P&T, solvent concentration, liquid injection, large volume injection or dynamic HS.
