Mac Recruit Group are representing a very reputable UK wide Energy & Waste Management company. Based in Peterborough, the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for all electrical, controls and instrumentation engineering and maintenance with some aspects of mechanical engineering

Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment to maximize plant reliability and uptime.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in control systems, instrumentation, and electrical circuits.
  • Provide hands-on support and expertise during plant shutdowns and outages to ensure safe and efficient completion of maintenance activities.
  • Configure, maintain, and upgrade PLC, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems to optimize plant performance.
  • Develop and implement control strategies to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability of plant operations.
  • Ensure all control systems meet functional requirements and are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Specify, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation for process control and monitoring, including temperature, pressure, flow, and level measurement devices.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of instrumentation through regular testing, calibration, and adjustment.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of instrumentation systems, including P&IDs, calibration records, and loop diagrams.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are in place for all EC&I activities.
  • Manage a team of technicians

Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer requirements:

  • Knowledge of repair methods of EC&I machinery and equipment.
  • Possess appropriate Engineering qualifications such as ONC / HNC (or equivalent).
  • Experienced background in power plants, petrochemical, energy from waste or similar
