THE OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PLC Controls Engineer to join a well-established company, specialising in the design and supply of customer standard process control systems to the FMCG industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Completing project tasks (specifying, planning, testing and commission of control systems in conjunction with the customer, providing after sales service and customer training) within the quoted specification, timescale and cost targets.
  • The completion of project tasks applying the procedures, guidelines, forms and examples stipulated in the quality assurance system.
  • Informing the assigned project leader of any problems relating to the assigned tasks.
  • Maintaining project files according to the company quality procedures.
  • Procuring help on the technical and resource matters from the project leader.
  • Regularly assess the outstanding work, provide updates to project leader as required and ask for support in good time.
  • Handing over the project to the customer and provide after sales support.
  • Maintaining, update and archive the project documentation.
  • Striving towards own project leadership responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical/Vocational diploma or degree in electrical or automation engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience working on turnkey automation and controls projects with time, cost and quality responsibilities.
  • Good knowledge of design and coding of PLC/SCADA control system software (preferably Rockwell and Siemens TIA).
  • Familiarity with the food processing industry is a strong advantage.
  • In addition, you will possess strong communication skills, and enjoy leading and working in a team.
  • The role will require willingness to travel throughout the UK and Worldwide (approximately 30-40% annually).
