We are currently working with a food manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality products and services that meet the needs of customers and comply with all legal standards. They are seeking aSpecification Technologist to join the team to ensure that all product specifications meet both legal and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate product specifications for both internal use and external customers
  • Ensure all specifications meet legal obligations and customer requirements, providing correct information for legally compliant artwork
  • Create submission details that include accurate ingredient declarations and nutritional information
  • Maintain compliance with BRC and customer standards
  • Provide knowledge on legal codes and customer practices regarding packaging and export ingredients
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure all specifications are accurate
  • Proactively manage and update specifications to build customer confidence and meet industry standards

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of food labelling laws, ingredient declarations, and nutrition regulations
  • Experience with BRC standards and maintaining compliance with customer and industry requirements
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, ensuring right-first-time specifications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the foodindustry
  • Experience with specification software or customer portals
  • Familiarity with legal requirements within the food industry
