General Foreman (Civil Engineering)
My client, a national Civil Engineering contractor specialising in the delivery of both Highways and Energyprojects are currently looking to recruit an experienced General Foreman to join a large infrastructure project in the Peterborough area for the next 4-5 months.
Duties
- Supervise and manage site operations, including subcontractors and direct labor
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Coordinate and schedule work activities to meet project deadlines
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality standards
- Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively
- Maintain accurate records of site activities and progress
Your profile
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in the civil engineering sector
- Previous experience working on roads, 278 packages or highways projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools
- Valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS with First Aid
