Workshop Supervieor
Welding fabrication -Assembly
Key Responsibilities:
This supervisory role requires a hands-on, practical approach. You will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of components and finished goods, encompassing people management, health and safety, and reporting requirements. You will oversee the weld and assembly team, supporting the head of production with day-to-day management of the manufacturing area. You will provide leadership to the team, ensuring production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met, while fostering a culture of safety. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
General and Task Management:
- Ensure team members work efficiently and effectively to meet quality and safety standards (ISO9001).
- Ensure team members follow manufacturing procedures and quality requirements (ISO9001).
- Ensure relevant equipment is calibrated and records are maintained, including calibrated tape measure numbers (ISO9001) and testing videos where applicable. Non-conforming material must be clearly identified and segregated.
- Follow the escalation procedure for quality concerns (ISO9001).
- Ensure the team is aware of due dates, daily targets, and responsibilities.
- Create, manage, and maintain challenging efficiencies to ensure consistent production.
- Monitor and maintain all equipment and tools, including housekeeping (e.g., power tools kept in locked toolboxes, calibrated tape measure checks, general cleanliness).
- Ensure the team follows health and safety rules and understands their responsibilities.
People and Relationship Management:
- Lead by example and consistently promote high standards.
- Train operators on products and processes.
- Support and manage the team daily to achieve targets.
- Provide product and technical expertise within the team.
- Encourage team members to suggest improvements to processes and products (ISO9001) and provide feedback to the management team.
- Implement multi/cross-training to ensure all required areas (including the paint shop and despatch) are covered by at least two additional operatives by June 2024.
- Effectively navigate the network to access necessary documents.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure effective production
