This role offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact on students and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of library services.TPP are recruiting a proactive, organised and friendly Library Services Advisor on behalf of our client, a respected Higer Education Institution.The Role:As a Library Services Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students and staff, enhancing their learning experience through efficient library services. You will also engage in a variety of tasks, from front-of-house services to administrative duties, ensuring no two days are the same.Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and efficient front-of-house services, including desk-based, roaming, and remote support.
  • Prepare the service desk, handle enquiries, and signpost to other teams as needed.
  • Offer advice on the use of library systems and equipment and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Process requests for digitised content in line with copyright legislation.
  • Assist with stock maintenance, including shelving, displays, and promotional activities.
  • Support the Library Service in both front office and back-office functions.
  • Ensure the smooth running of library spaces, reporting equipment faults and monitoring the environment.
  • Provide basic customer service training to Student Library Assistants.
Requirements:
  • Good communication at all levels and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work within established processes.
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident in acting independently and proactively.
