Operations Manager – Medical Equipment / DevicesAbout the RoleProfectus have a brand new position for an experienced MES Operations Manager on behalf of our client, a leading provider of Managed Equipment Services in the healthcare sector. Please note this position is fully onsite in Peterborough with limited home working. This is an exciting opportunity to take full site responsibility for the management of a critical healthcare contract, ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency.As the MES Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of contract and service delivery, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, while maintaining a safe and compliant environment. You will also play a pivotal role in liaising with stakeholders, producing performance reports, and representing the account at senior management level.Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee contract performance, ensuring adherence to all KPIs and internal metrics.
  • Represent Operations at Implementation Planning Groups and Investment Committee meetings.
  • Ensure the effective performance of all maintenance and service-related obligations at the site.
  • Provide technical and scientific leadership to win the confidence of clients and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Head of Managed Equipment Services on budget and efficiency strategies.
  • Produce accurate performance reports, highlighting key commercial issues.
  • Audit and verify legacy equipment, supporting its removal and reinstallation.
  • Investigate incidents involving medical devices, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as MHRA, CQC, and NHS LA to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of clinical equipment and databases.
  • Attend Medical Devices Committees and Trust meetings as required.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in medical equipment management and contract service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, commercial awareness, and exceptional leadership abilities.Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • HNC/D or professional qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Extensive experience in clinical equipment management.
  • Strong understanding of medical equipment maintenance, specification, and commissioning.
  • Contract management experience within NHS or Private Healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High levels of personal responsibility, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Registration as a Clinical Technologist (VRCT) or Clinical Scientist (HCPC).
  • Management and leadership training.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with clinical workflows.
  • Experience working with senior NHS clinical staff.
