We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher with experience and a passion for ensuring children with SEND receive their full education entitlement. You will drive high quality curriculum practice and teaching, learning and assessment across the secondary department within the academy, working closely with the Deputy Headteacher.
Our partner is a specialist all-through school in Peterborough, who cater to pupils with EHCP's in place predominantly for Autism, SEMH, Mild and Complex Learning Disabilities.

The incoming senior leader:
- is excited about providing the very best education for students with complex special educational needs and has significant experience of working with autistic students
- is passionate about developing an aspirational curriculum which is adapted to the needs of individuals and focuses on what’s really important.
- has experience of developing a curriculum for students who are working significantly below age-related expectations and using teaching strategies which are appropriation for neuro-diverse learners
- is able to inspire leaders, teachers and support staff to use a range of evidence-based teaching strategies and is committed to supporting the professional development of their team??
- is able to collaborate with the team of professionals working around the students and engage with stakeholders including therapists, the Local Authority and care workers?
- can contribute to the vision, organisation and academy improvement to ensure a high level of performance
- has an effective leadership style that encourages innovation and confidence and builds a positive culture amongst staff?
- can build positive relationships with staff, students and families alike?
- is able to demonstrate the values that underpin our approach to supporting students??
Your application should demonstrate your experience, commitment, knowledge and passion for working with children with SEND and Autism, along with a willingness and enthusiasm to contribute further to the wider life and ethos of the school. The successful applicant must be committed to their own professional development and be willing to engage in training opportunities and will be required to teach the whole 4-16 age range.
