Start Date: September 2025

We are a mixed, day, community special school dedicated to supporting students across KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 with moderate learning difficulties (MLD). We offer a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum closely matched to the targets set out in each student's Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and Preparing for Adulthood objectives. Our excellent facilities include generously proportioned, well-equipped classrooms, specialist rooms for science, DT, Food, and Computing, and key stage sensory rooms to address students' wider needs.

We are seeking a compassionate Teacher to support and inspire our students. You will develop tailored lesson plans, provide emotional support, and work closely with parents and support staff to ensure each student reaches their full potential.

For anyone who has not worked in specialist education settings before, it is important to add that our classroom structure is tailored to the needs of our pupils. We pride ourselves on our small classes, with a maxiumum of 7-10 pupils in any one class at one time - although this tends to be much lower. This way, our teachers have the greatest impact on the pupils they teach and ultimately, this creates greater positive pupil outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Either experience in special education or mainstream education with some SEN understanding
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine care to nurture young people and support them to fulfil their potential
