- Provide one-on-one and group support to SEN learners, helping them engage with lessons and achieve their full potential.
- Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation, adapting resources to meet the individual needs of students.
- Encourage and support students’ independence, personal development, and academic progress.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the teaching staff and SEN coordinator.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, including SEN specialists, to implement and follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to students when required.
- Support with personal care needs, where necessary.
- Experience working with SEN learners, ideally within a further education or secondary school setting, lived experience or understanding of SEN conditions will be considered.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive approach to challenges.
- A relevant qualification in SEN support or education is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
- Monday to Friday, 5 days per week term time only.
