Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit for a Electrical/ Electronics Design Engineer for a leading manufacturing engineering company based North of York. This provide a rare opportunity to join a leading company who are a household name within their industry allowing you to gain exposure to a large variety of different disciplines.

The main purpose of the role is to provide engineering design and support functions, under instruction of more senior engineers.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or ElectronicEngineering or a related field with exposure to design of electrical systems.

Hours - Monday - Thurs 0830 - 1630 / Friday 0830 - 1600

Key Responsibilities:

Provide design input on projects, using the technical competencies listed below.

Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.

Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.

Offsite engineering support for new products.

Assist sales and marketing in the preparation of quotes and proposals.

Provide customer support.

Provide technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments.

Work within the requirements of company procedures and national/international regulations.

Technical Competency

Essential

Design of analogue and digital electronic circuits and PCBs
Power distribution and protection equipment
Variable speed drives and soft-starts
Communication systems and protocols

PCB manufacturing, standards and prototyping
Industrial sensors and equipment

Desirable

Wiring distribution systems

Electric motor types, designs and specification
Video distribution, formats, conversion and storage
Fibre optic multiplexers and ancillaries
Design of motor control electronic circuits and PCBs
Design of electrical power transmission systems

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related/equivalent subject.
  • Demonstrable experience in an Electrical/Electronics Design Engineering role.
  • Clear technical writing and good record keeping.
  • Software Skills : MS Office, Autocad. MathCAD - PCB Design using Altium.
