Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Staff Power is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Mechanical Engineer position near Pickering. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take the lead on design projects, providing engineering design and support, while overseeing the technical discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design projects from initial concept through to manufacturing handover.
- Provide mechanical design input and generate ideas for new product development.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation, operating manuals, and manufacturing manuals.
- Provide offsite engineering support for new products.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to assist in preparing quotes and proposals.
- Provide technical support to production, logistics, and integration teams.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff to foster team development.
- Ensure projects adhere to company procedures, timelines, and budgets.
- Offer leadership and supervision in mechanical engineering design, ensuring functional suitability.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with oil, gas, and water hydraulics, sealing systems, and assembly methods.
- Strong focus on safety, QHSE, cost-consciousness, and technical leadership.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD/DraftSight, SolidWorks).
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
- A minimum of 6 years experience in an engineering design environment.
- Offshore experience is a plus.
