Overview: Live-In

Salary £30,000.00 plus Earn up to £3000 in service charges per annum.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and delicious menu items
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high-quality standards
  • Help develop and implement new recipes and menu items
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Assist in scheduling staff and managing labor costs
  • Support the Head Chef in administrative tasks such as budgeting and menu planning

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavors, and presentation
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred
