Interim Financial Accountant Job in Plymouth, Devon
Location: PlymouthContract Type: Interim 3 to 6 monthsHourly rate: £22 - £30 per hour
About the RoleA prominent business in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join their finance team whilst they recruit on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with a strong financial operational background to contribute to a leading local manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of short-term cash flow forecasts.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and audits.
- Assist in tax return preparation and compliance.
- Provide financial information required for HMRC and national statistics.
- Coordinate, prepare, and analyse monthly rolling forecasts and annual budgets.
- Support accounting and tax compliance for overseas subsidiaries.
- Work closely with finance business partners to provide information and analysis.
- Maintain business controls and procedures.
- Participate in the month-end close cycle for timely management accounts preparation.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
- Oversee the Fixed Asset Register.
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong operational finance background
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong ability to analyse financial data
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident and enthusiastic team player.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness
