Accounts Assistant - Plymouth - £25-30,000

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a new client, a highly successful business operates in the architectural sector and serving clients throughout the Southwest and beyond. Due to continued expansion the company now seek to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join them in a newly created role. This opportunity is offered as a full time, permanent contract to be based from the company’s offices in central Plymouth.

Reporting to a highly experienced and very friendly Finance Manager the successful candidate can expect a broad and varied role working as part of a small and sociable team. Key responsibilities to include:

- Assume a lead role in the general maintenance of the company’s sales ledger function, producing invoices and statements for over 50 high profile clients

- Maintain the accounts payable function, creating new supplier accounts, matching purchase ledger invoices and preparing supplier payment runs

- Assist with the company’s credit control processes

- Assist the Finance Manager with month end procedures

- General account reconciliations to include internal credit card expenditure and expenses

- Maintain all aspects of the company’s Xero based systems

- Deputise for colleagues during absences

- Assist with year-end audit and statutory reporting processes

- Other ad-hoc accounting duties as required

For this role we’re looking for an Accounts Assistant with recently gained experience in a similar role. Candidate's may be part/fully AAT qualified or consider themselves to be qualified by vocational experience. Good all-round accounting experience and use of modern accounting platforms essential. The role works with colleagues throughout the business and regularly liaises with long standing customers so excellent communication and customer service skills a must!
