Finance Assistant - Plymouth / Hybrid - £32-35,000 + Excellent benefits
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been engaged by a new client, a large business specialising in the sustainable energy sector and operating throughout the UK and Europe. The company have tasked us with sourcing an experienced Finance Assistant, a newly created full time and permanent opportunity. The role benefits from a largely remote working arrangement where the successful candidate will only be required to attend the company’s headquarters for one day each week.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this will be a busy, broad and interesting role where the successful candidate will play a key role in the efficient running of an often complex finance function. Key responsibilities to include:
- Maintain all aspects of the high-volume accounts payable function using a Sage 200 based system
- Oversee supplier payment runs
- Maintain all aspects of the company’s accounts receivable systems
- Assist the wider finance team with the preparation of management accounts
- Play a key role in implementing new and developing existing digital accounting processes
- Monitor the company’s aged debt book and play a key role in first stage credit control
- Assist with VAT reporting (often complex due to overseas imports)
- Support the Head of Finance on a range of ongoing accounting projects
- Support internal and external audit procedures
For this role we seek a motivated and career driven Finance Assistant with at least two years of recently gained experience in a similar capacity, ideally working in a high volume transactional environment. Candidates may be part/fully AAT/professionally qualified or suitably qualified through vocational experience. The company is keen to implement digital system improvements so good IT aptitude and excellent SAGE/MS Excel skills essential. This is a highly visible role that works with an energetic team and liaises with colleagues throughout the business so excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
