My client is seeking a Moulding Production Technician to join their dynamic team at their Plymouth site. This role is key to producing plastic components, including Vacutainer Tubes & Caps, using advanced injection moulding machines. The position is ideal for someone with an engineering background, with injection moulding experience considered a plus (but not mandatory for the right candidate). This is a continuous night shift role, offering opportunities to work in a fast-paced, innovative manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate injection moulding machines to produce high-quality plastic components.
  • Troubleshoot machine or process issues using root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical).
  • Perform routine planned maintenance (Weekly, Monthly, and Semi-Annual).
  • Support the PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks.
  • Work safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Gemba, Kaizen, TIMWOODS).
  • Collaborate effectively with Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers, and Shift Leaders.
  • Document production data and maintain records via SAP.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.

About You:

  • Essential: Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Desirable: Injection moulding experience (not mandatory).
  • Strong fault-finding skills on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and complete routine tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic computer literacy.
