This directorate is responsible for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure that supports the organisation. The IT Operations Practice is comprised of technical teams that manage, support, and monitor a range of critical technical solutions.As part of the DevOps function, you will collaborate closely with our software development teams to support the platform and infrastructure underpinning our new microservices applications, driving the digital transformation of both internal and external services. This involves configuring, managing, and supporting infrastructure across multiple cloud environments, with a focus on security, performance, and scalability, while adhering to agile principles for incremental delivery.Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical expertise to the Web Operations team, focusing on supporting production systems and collaborating with Agile development teams to deliver new services. - Ensure services are deployed in a highly available and maintainable configuration using DevOps methodologies and tooling. - Lead by example, setting technical standards within the team and providing mentorship to junior and mid-level DevOps Engineers. - Actively engage with and coach fellow DevOps engineers, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.Key Skills and Requirements:- Cloud Infrastructure: Strong experience with AWS services, including API Gateway for RESTful APIs, Sagemaker, Lakeformation, Glue, and data services such as ElastiCache (Redis), Athena, SQS, and Kafka..- Containerization & Orchestration: Expertise in Kubernetes and Openshift for deploying and managing containerized applications. - Automation & Configuration Management: Proficiency in Puppet for configuration management and strong automation skills. -Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with Terraform for creating, managing, and modifying cloud infrastructure. - DevOps and Agile Experience: Proven experience working in DevOps and Agile environments, with a solid understanding of CI/CD practices. - Scripting/Programming: Proficiency in programming languages such as Groovy, Python, Java, or Go. - Automation: Strong focus on automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
