Construction Manager - Major Infrastructure Project - Devonport
Randstad C&P are recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport HMNB. This is a challenging and rewarding contract opportunity with a leading construction company, offering a competitive rate and the chance to make a real impact on a critical project.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of construction operations on a specific section of the project, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Lead and manage a team of site staff, including engineers, supervisors, and operatives, providing guidance and support.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, particularly those relating to the naval dockyard environment.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify and manage potential risks and issues, proposing solutions and corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and safety records.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project goals are met effectively.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects.
- A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within a naval dockyard or similar environment.
- Experience working on complex projects, ideally within the defense sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
