Role Overview:We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a pupil with an EHCP, working towards their individual targets in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the pupil can access the full curriculum.
  • Develop and adapt learning materials to meet the pupil's needs.
  • Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging the pupil's social and emotional development.
  • Attend relevant training and meetings to stay updated on best practices in supporting pupils with special educational needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and experience in providing 1:1 support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience with trauma-informed processes is a bonus.
  • A passionate drive to make education fun for the child, who is returning to school after time away.
  • A DBS on the update service is desirable.
