gap personnel Exeter are recruiting for an CFCS Frequency Control Attendant (Electrical Fitter) on a temporary basis, to join the Control Room for our client based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon.  

You will be joining a leading company that provides Engineering Services to the Defence, Security, Nuclear and Emergency Servies.

As a CFCS Frequency Control Attendant you will join the HV Operations Department who are responsible for operating and maintaining the Devonport Naval Base high voltage networks and associated plant and equipment to ensure that both 50Hz & 60Hz supplies are available, to ensure both business continuity and nuclear safety. This is a full time position monitoring and operating 8 mechanically coupled motor-generator frequency changers. 

This is a control room based role situated within the Central Frequency Changing Station which is the central intake for all electrical operations at Devonport Dockyard.

Main Duties:

  • Monitor the frequency changer control panels
  • Respond to any issues with the frequency changers as directed by the Shift Manager
  • Carry out regular shift checks
  • Assist the Shift Manager with frequency changer operations
  • Provide support to the shift manager

About you:

  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification 
  • Experience of working with control and instrumentation
  • Previous experience of operating or maintaining electrical plant and equipment
  • Competent following processes and procedures 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate (e.g MS Office, Word etc)
  • Available immediately
  • Electrical installation/maintenance experience (preferably with experience of RN platforms)

Pay & Hours:

  • £18.70ph-£19.67, paid weekly
  • Monday to Thursday (0730am – 1530pm) & Friday 0730am – 1230pm, 35hours per week.
