About the Role
Take ownership of the accounts payable function, ensuring efficient systems, accurate processing, and timely payments. Lead a small team, maintain compliance with financial regulations, and provide vital support to audits and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all supplier payments, VAT coding, and account reconciliations.
- Manage the accounts payable team, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to policies.
- Handle complex queries, support audits, and ensure governance across purchase-to-pay activities.
- Process payroll payments and manage VAT Shelter and CIS claims.
- Collaborate with procurement on supplier details and maintain control measures.
- Lead month-end procedures, including control account checks and payment preparation.
- Provide cover for key finance tasks, including bank reconciliation and cash reporting.
- Strong experience in accounts payable, month-end processes, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and knowledge of VAT principles.
- Team management skills with a focus on building efficient, motivated teams.
- Part or fully qualified in AAT/CCAB if preferable, but not essential
