Are you an experienced Audit Manager looking to take the next step in your career? Reporting to our Audit Partners, you'll manage and oversee the effective delivery of audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio, build strong client relationships, and support efforts to bring in new clients. You'll also handle the preparation of financial statements for certain non-audit clients.

This role is based in our Clients Plymouth office, with the flexibility of hybrid working as needed. Occasional travel to other offices and client sites will also be part of this role.

The Role:

  • Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Manager to join their dynamic team. The Audit Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the audit process for clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audit and assurance services, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
  • Plan and execute audit engagements in accordance with auditing standards and regulations
  • Manage a team of auditors and provide guidance and support throughout the audit process
  • Review and manage the preparation of financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Identify and communicate audit findings to clients and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on financial matters
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in auditing standards to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Managing the preparation of financial statements.
  • Managing and developing junior members of the team.
  • Assisting the Audit Partners in developing the department, together with proposals for new work and performance improvement.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified, with experience working within an audit and assurance team.
  • Proven experience in leading, coaching, and supervising junior staff.
  • Understanding of UK Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to develop and manage complex spreadsheets, as well as strong skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Experience of Caseware audit software - Desirable
  • Working knowledge of Sage Accounts software - Desirable
