Bid Writer/Business Development Manager - PlymouthRare Opportunity Alert! Due to increase of works, a great opportunity has arisen for a Bid Writer to join an established construction company on a permanent basis. The main purpose of this position is to lead the Bid Writing and Business Development activities, ensuring that all submissions are completed professionally and within the timeframes. Support contract management functions and marketing efforts, contributing to the growth and operational success specialising in new build and refurbishments within Education, Commercial, Retail, Leisure and Healthcare across Devon valuing up to a couple million. Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the preparation of supplier tender enquiries, including Selection Questionnaires (SQs), Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Ensure all submissions are accurate, complete, and comply with the tender requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance and updating the ‘Bid Library’ with key company information, responses, and content for future reference.
  • Collaborate with Company Directors to drive business growth, set objectives, and identify opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Attend industry conferences, meetings, and events to promote the company.
  • Create engaging content for various communication channels, including the website, social media, and internal platforms.
  • Create case studies and marketing materials to support business development and client engagement activities.
  • Create regular reports and data analyses to track performance, monitor bid success rates, and business growth metrics.
Requirements:
  • A-level or equivalent in English
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a similar role in construction
  • Ability to fully engage with all levels of employees
  • High levels of commitment to ensure winning submissions
  • Driving licence is required, and DBS may be conducted
