Nursery Room Leader

Location: Plymouth, UKContract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Reed Education is thrilled to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Nursery Room Leader at a supportive local school in Plymouth. This role is perfect for someone passionate about early childhood education and skilled in fostering the development of young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Environment Management: Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
  • Activity Planning: Design age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Progress Tracking: Support learning and care by maintaining detailed records of children's progress.
  • Relationship Building: Forge strong relationships with parents and carers; provide guidance to nursery staff.
  • Program Development: Develop and manage programs to meet the individual learning, language, social, and emotional needs of students.
  • Feedback Provision: Regularly review progress and provide feedback through the Annual Review process; ensure all students feel included and valued.
  • Incident Management: Handle minor incidents and maintain health and hygiene standards; occasionally escort children home if needed.

Support for Educational Staff:

  • Utilize strategies in collaboration with teachers and speech & language therapists to achieve learning goals. Assist in planning and delivering educational activities, monitor student responses, and provide feedback on progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, CCLD, NNEB, CACHE, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage and leading a team.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of EYFS, SEN code of practice, OFSTED standards, safeguarding, and child protection.
  • Skills: Excellent ICT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
