Quantity Surveyor

Location: Plymouth or Exeter

Salary: £50,000-70,000 + excellent car allowance (salary is dependent on level- they are open to looking at candidates from Assistant to MQS Level)

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding sector? Do you have a strong track record of managing contracts, controlling costs, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget?

We are working with a leading housebuilder looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyorto oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in delivering high-quality housing developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial and commercial aspects of construction projects to ensure profitability and compliance with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Handle legal and contractual matters to ensure projects remain commercially viable while adhering to company policies.
  • Conduct cost estimation and analysis to control budgets and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Source, appoint, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, ensuring performance aligns with company standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to drive project success and meet key business objectives.
  • Produce timely and accurate valuation reports and management information to support commercial decision-making.
  • Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring compliance across the team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in the housebuilding industry, with a strong understanding of commercial project management.
  • Knowledge of HSE building regulations and legal requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
