About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutor to provide one-to-one support to a primary-aged student on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have experienced trauma and ASC. This role involves planning and teaching tailored lessons in the outdoors, preparing teaching materials, and writing detailed reports on student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individualised Instruction: Plan and deliver personalised lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Material Preparation: Develop and prepare teaching materials that cater to the learning styles and needs of the student.
  • Progress Reporting: Write comprehensive reports on student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Confidence Building: Help students develop confidence and independence in their learning journey.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to manage and support positive behaviour.
  • Parental Communication: Regularly communicate with parents and carers about their child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Learning Outside the Classroom (LOTC): Incorporate LOTC activities to enhance learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with trauma and ASC.
  • Skills: Strong ability to manage behaviour and adapt teaching methods to individual needs.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and carers.
  • Driving: Must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs.
