Reed Education is on the lookout for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Featherstone starting this September, with the potential of this being a permanent contract. The role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting Year 4 or Year 5 pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Implement and monitor individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Support studentsā€™ social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Assist with classroom management and organisation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting childrenā€™s learning and development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
