Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchaser to join our highly skilled procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for the purchasing of materials and goods, ensuring they meet the required specifications in terms of quality, quantity, and delivery. You will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate competitive prices, and manage supplier performance. The role will also involve identifying areas for improvement in supplier services, ensuring seamless communication, and contributing to the overall success of the business supply chain.



Key Responsibilities:



Leadership / Team Management:

  • Collaborate with the purchasing team across all disciplines, ensuring flexibility and support across various expertise areas (e.g., electrical, mechanical, steel, etc.).
  • Work as part of the team to ensure all goods and services are procured with a just-in-time mindset.


People Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and manage their ongoing performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and project teams, to meet procurement requirements.


Quality Control:

  • Ensure adherence to processes, procedures, and technical instructions.
  • Confirm that goods are ordered as per the request and communicate any deviations with the requesting party.
  • Ensure that items are ordered to specifications and part numbers.
  • Work with stores and goods-in teams to ensure timely deliveries.


Process Management:

  • Work with approved suppliers and source new suppliers when necessary.
  • Review requisitions, manage stock levels, and place orders accordingly.
  • Raise purchase orders and negotiate contract terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor and record supplier performance, ensuring SIFOT (Supply In Full On Time).
  • Collaborate with Quality teams to address any issues such as product failures, mistakes, damages, delays, and non-conformance reports (NCR), damage/material notes (DMN), etc.
  • Support various stakeholders, including design engineers, project managers, and fit-out teams.
  • Ensure stock levels are understood and maintained, and provide updates on market issues and supplier performance.


Other Duties:

  • Assist with other tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth operations within the supply chain.


Requirements:



Essential:

  • Purchasing/Procurement/Buying Experience: Proven track record in procurement or purchasing roles.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Organizational and Planning Skills: Strong attention to detail and planning abilities.
  • Self-Motivated: Capable of using own initiative to solve problems and drive results.
  • Excellent Communication: Both verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
