This position seeks a dedicated and meticulous Financial Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities within the life science industry. The role entails ensuring financial reporting and regulatory requirements are met, alongside driving the strategic financial planning of the company.

Description

  • Providing financial and operational information to aid management decisions.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, external audits, and SOX regulations.
  • Managing inventory reporting and control, including annual stock checks and cyclic counting.
  • Analysing production or service costs for budgeting, pricing, and profitability optimisation.
  • Handling VAT and customs compliance.
  • Tracking and reporting on operational performance.
  • Supporting data analysis to identify trends and insights for strategic planning.
  • Finalising monthly financial records and managing specific business projects.
  • Conducting variance analysis to compare actual performance against forecasts and guide corrective actions.

Profile

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • Professional certification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Experience: At least 5 years in a management accounting position, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to provide insightful analysis of variance trends and business performance.
  • Accounting Skills: High-level general accounting skills, including cost accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Organisational Skills: Good organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deliver accurate results within tight deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is desirable.
  • Additional Skills: Experience in lean and process improvement is a plus.
